From the recording Lane to the Glen
The Sailor’s Farewell is associated with Tommy Cawley, one of the forgotten masters of the golden age of Sligo fiddling, and was published in the ‘Fiddlers of Sligo’ tunebook by Daithí and Oisín in 2018. The Sweat House is a composition of Leitrim fiddler Joe Liddy. This unusual version of The Steampacket comes from a recording of lesser-known Sligo fiddle player Mary Ellen Giblin who is featured on The Coleman Archive Vol. 1, and was also published in the ‘Fiddlers of Sligo’ tunebook.
