From the recording Lane to the Glen
The first tune was composed by the great fiddler James Kelly, in tribute to Clare flute-player PJ Crotty. The reel which follows was in the repertoire of James ‘Lad’ O’Beirne, published initially in Patrick Weston Joyce’s Old Irish Folk Music and Songs (1909), a fact kindly brought to my attention by the wonderful Nickie McAuliffe.
