From the recording Lane to the Glen

I first heard The Dogs among the Bushes played by my great friend and mentor Joe Burke. It was a favourite of another great friend, Leitrim accordion player Michael O’Brien who’s humour, good nature and love of everything Joe Burke was infectious to anyone who knew him. I would like to dedicate this track to his memory. Martin Connolly first introduced me to the music of accordion player Paddy Gavin and I was instantly hooked. He was one of the most rhythmic, stylish and brilliant players I ever heard, the final two tunes are two of his compositions.
