From the recording Lane to the Glen

St James’ Kitchen is a composition of fiddler and composer Brendan Tonra who came from the Sligo/Mayo border, spending most of his life in Boston. Brendan composed the tune as a hornpipe, which we have adapted here as a reel version. Lord Gordon is a slimmed-down version of the well-known reel which we learned from great Clare flute player Eamonn Cotter. The 2-part version was recorded in 1938 by the Ballinakill Traditional Dance Players.
